Out of the shadows and into the light

I think of shadows like negative space in art, sometimes just as important as the subject in a painting or photograph.  The trick is to see them and it was not as easy as I thought it would be.  Silhouettes are the subject as shadow, making the shape or outline more important than details.  I had silhouettes made of my children when they were young, as my mother did for my sister and me, and they are among my most prized possessions!

  2. I really enjoyed all your pics, somehow you just took what is an ordinary scene, that being an ordinary shadow and turn it into a creative art piece

  3. Amy, I liked the 3 pics with the diagonal shadows. I kept looking at the one with the louvered door and diagonal shadows from the blind.
I also liked the colors and composition of the watering can and shadow. Nice.
