I think of shadows like negative space in art, sometimes just as important as the subject in a painting or photograph. The trick is to see them and it was not as easy as I thought it would be. Silhouettes are the subject as shadow, making the shape or outline more important than details. I had silhouettes made of my children when they were young, as my mother did for my sister and me, and they are among my most prized possessions!
Sooo artistic Amy! I like all of them but my favorite is #2 and the sailboat too! Beautiful work as usual!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed all your pics, somehow you just took what is an ordinary scene, that being an ordinary shadow and turn it into a creative art piece
ReplyDeleteAmy, I liked the 3 pics with the diagonal shadows. I kept looking at the one with the louvered door and diagonal shadows from the blind.
ReplyDeleteI also liked the colors and composition of the watering can and shadow. Nice.
