Seeing the forest and the trees

We have a lot of trees here in Florida and my favorite is the Live Oak- strong, slow-growing,  gnarly branches that grow in twists and turns.  The spaces formed under and between the branches of these trees feel sacred to me- if I was a forest fairy, I would make my home in a Live Oak!

We have three Blue Heron nests in the pine trees out back- we are on the second round of babies for the year.  These birds are incredible nest builders and their homes survive year to year despite a lot of windy weather.

  1. Lovely pics, my faves are 3, 5, 7! These three all have some beautiful symmetry to them that's so alluring! Of course your last pic with the winking eye is enjoyable too! Great pics!
