This assignment was fun and I discovered there are more circles out there than I ever noticed before. That's what I love about using a camera- it helps me notice more in my surroundings. Still using the Sony Cybershot on the auto exposure setting, usually without flash as the camera has decent light-gathering capacity, but one of these days I'll be adventurous and explore the settings.
My favorite was#1 with 3 and 4 being very close.. I loved the randomness of 1 and I loved the mystery of 3 and 4, at least for me I'm wondering about the mysterious green glow coming thru the honeycomb structure...Very creative Amy!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark- the green was a plant in the background and out of focus (I was using the macro setting.) I, too, would like to know why it glows...more photographic mystery. Looking forward to seeing your pics and everyone elses!
DeleteHi Amy, My faves are #1, 3 & 5. In #1 I'm loving the colors, textures and randomness, so gorgeous! #2 I like the grittiness and, #5 I have no explanation why I like it so much, just the patterns of the coiled hose is intriguing! Just curious, what is numbers 2, 3, 7? Even # 6 confirms we have circles everywhere!
ReplyDeleteHi, Joanne- still trying to get to everyone's blog- having trouble the way I set things up, but will try a different way. #2 is looking through a hollow rung of an aluminum ladder, #3 is close-up of a Styrofoam seed-starting tray and #7 is the fluorescent bulb in the outdoor light. I so love using a digital camera where I can take a thousand shots to get one or two acceptable ones without spending a fortune on developing!
DeleteHiya Amy! My favorites are #1 and #5....for precisely the same reasons mentioned by Mark & Joanne. "Seeing" the circles within that hose was pure genius!
ReplyDeleteI'll be anxious to also learn what that honeycomb thing is! You clearly are the master (at this point) of macro shooting. Good job.
Thanks for the compliment, Lynn, but it's the camera and the auto/macro setting- I need to stop relying on that and play around a little more! The honeycomb thing is a Styrofoam seed-starting tray (my dad was a great gardener) and I used that macro setting to get close.
DeleteI LIKE #3 THE BEST, THE NUMEROUS CIRCLES, THE SIMPLICITY OF TONE WITH THAT SMALL SPLURGE OF GREEN, AND THE TEXTURE!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Becky, #3 is more interesting to me, too- somehow, the out-of-focus green really pops and almost seems in front of the hole. I'd like to know the physics of photography (and the perception of seeing, I guess.)
Delete2,3, and 4 are my favorites, I love the light coming through and the spashes of color. I also like number one and that would have looked cool as a black and white.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tonya- my camera does have a black-and-white setting and I need to remember to try it. The auto setting has made me lazy...!
DeleteI like 1 and 3. They both have perspective like a wide angle lens up close. Cool colors in both also.
ReplyDeleteAs you can see, there is a lot of junk around my parents' house- in between picture taking, I've got a lot of work to do! Thanks, Burr-
